In the morning you will visit the last fishing village – Iseltwald before heading the stunning Giessbach waterfalls. If you like it can be combined with a boat and funicular ride. At Giessbach walk under the waterfall to take some pictures of the stunning waterfall or the amazing view over Lake of Brienz or simply relax at the terrace of the Swiss historic Giessbach Grand Hotel. Enjoy a ride with Europe’s oldes funicular to the boat station. Take a boat to cross the lake to the picturesque village of Brienz, famous for its woodcarving and the only place in Switzerland where you’ll find original and all handmade cuckcucks clock.

 

Stroll around Europe’s most beautiful alley with the traditional Swiss Chalet houses and enjoy a real Swiss picknick at the lakeside. In the afternoon we’ll visit the impressive Aare gorge. Walk through the gorge and feel the power of water and nature first hand. Before heading back to Interlaken you’ll visit the local alpine zoo bevore we head to Interlaken. The last stop is at the harbor at the lake of Toune where a picturesque view over the lake welcomes us to end this unforgettable Swiss day.

 

Take a boat to cross the lake to the picturesque village of Brienz, famous for its woodcarving and the only place where you’ll find original and all handmade cuckoo clocks. Lunch you’ll enjoy at the lakeside. In the afternoon we’ll visit the impressive Aare gorge. Walk through the gorge and feel the power of water.

 

Brienz is located in the middle of charming mountains at the eastern end of turquoise-coloured Lake Brienz. The cozy village is a starting point for excursions to Bernese Oberland, the Ballenberg Open-air Museum but also to Lucerne or Interlaken or across the nearby Alpine passes. Things to do in Brienz include Lake Brienz, Ballenberg open air museum, Giessbach. Brienz is renowned as a centre of excellence for woodcarving. Experience this craft close-up at Switzerland’s first ever Woodcarving Museum.

 

The Swiss Woodcarving Museum in Brienz is the first museum in Switzerland dedicated solely to the art of woodcarving. The listed factory building of Messrs. Jobin is home to a permanent exhibition featuring a wide variety of traditional and artistically significant woodcarvings from the region. You can enjoy the very famous Fondue. Fondue is a dish comprising of melted cheese served in a communal pot over a portable stove and eaten by dipping long-stemmed forks with bread into the cheese. You can even enjoy the Aare Gorge. The Aare Gorge is a section of the river Aare that carves through a limestone ridge near the town of Meiringen. Just walk a few meters into the gorge and you feel the power of water first hand, or if you like walk through the gorge and exit at the other end.
